Welcome

Does being a good parent matter? Does God care what kind of parent we are (as long as we aren't abusive)? Does it matter to our kids whether we are "good" parents? Does the Bible have anything to say about parenting that might shed some light on it for us?
Come, join me, while I contemplate these thoughts.

What is a good parent?

Our thoughts commence with an attempt to define some terms.

What do we mean by a "good parent"?
For the purposes of this blog, a good parent is a person who behaves in a manner acceptable to God, and in a manner beneficial to our children.

To which God are we referring?
For the purposes of this blog we are only going to concern ourselves with the God who has revealed Himself in the Bible.
I encourage you to read the Bible, if you're interested in being a good parent. God tells us a great deal about being a good parent.

So then -
what constitutes behavior acceptable to God?
AND
what is beneficial to our children?

These are questions that need exploring.  Let's do it together.
